What is the old wives tale about the ring over the belly to tell if it is a boy or girl?
Q. How do you do the necklace and ring over the belly, which way is it for a boy swing or in circles? How far along do you need to be? Like I said I know its an old wives tale but I am curious.

A. My family does the needle and thread. Hang a needle from thread and put your hand palm facing down and bob the needle 5 times on the thumb side of your hand and hold it over the top of your hand. If it swings in circles it's a girl, side to side it's a boy. My mom did it on me just after I got married and it said I was going to have 3 boys and a girl. I have 2 girls now. So... But I have done it since I've had them and it showed to girls and a boy and then it stopped. I had a miscarriage and now it shows 2 girls and 2 boys. I'm ttc now, so we'll see if it's really right. It is fun to do anyway.

Compare and contrast Roscuro and Despereaux in the Tale of Despereaub book?
