Hair!!!!!!!!?
Q. does anyone know where i can get a japanese hair perm done in seattle for about $300.00? P.S. my hair is curly but can get very straight when i flatten it. i was planning in investing for one, but i need to know more information on it like, how long would it take, would it work well in my hair etc. if you ever had one, would you reccomend it for my texture hair??? please help:) thanks

A. If your hair is very curly, perms can look uber-fake..plus they don't really last that long, especially for the price. My hair is crazy, but I got a Chi Straightener and it works amazingly. Plus they're about 100$ and last much longer than a perm. The time depends on length, and also how good you are at it. As you get better/more experienced, it takes less time. I'm not, like, whoring out that particular brand, it's just that I've had a few and this works the best on getting rid of the poofiness..and you could probably find them at a lot of hair salons in Seattle..

A. Let's see.. what's your favorite color? maybe you should use that. But if you don't want people to think your obsessed with that color and you have a dark hair color i would think you should go with either: blue purple dark green[if they have it where you live] or yellow not a deep yellow

A. Well the poof is always good if you have bangs. Just take the front section of your hair, pull it back, push it forward a little so it has some volume, and bobby pin it to secure it. also the messy bun. there's soo many different ways to do it, you can look on youtube for tons of tutorials on all these hairstyles. you can also make those two braids that are really cute. but don't make them TOO tight. you can also wear this with the poof. you can make the half-up half-down hairstyle and either tie it with a hairtie or use a cute hairclip. a bit of volume on top is always good. and if you want, you can curl the hair on the bottom. hmmm..well can't really think of anything else, but definitely look on youtube! they have tonsss of tutorials,… [cont.]

Black hair:How long will it take for my hair to go natural?
Q. I've been wearing a relaxer in my hair almost 11 years because of my mother's choice to wear my hair this way.I've been getting my hair professionally done.I want to go natural some day and give up relaxers. My hair is long, past my shoulders but it's really damaged. I want to bring out my natural beauty and embrace it. How long does it take for hair to go natural?
Asked by Kitty - Sat Oct 4 23:37:47 2008 - - 7 Answers - 1 Comments

A. I went natural in early July of 2008 and I love it! I've noticed that my hair is growing back thicker and stronger, and it's no longer breaking off, so it's definitely healthier! You will be natural as soon as you cut off all the permed hair, so it depends on you. If you decide to cut it all off today then you will be natural today. For most naturals, being natural means not having any chemicals in your hair (sans hair dye), so as soon as the chemically treated hair is gone then you are 100% natural. Your relaxer will not revert back to your natural hair so you do have to, at some point, cut if all off. When you do this is up to you and how long you want your natural hair to be before you do the BC (big chop or big cut). I decided to go… [cont.]

What is the best hair straightener/flat iron you have ever used?
Q. I own one, yes, but it doesn't keep my hair straight as long as i want it to. It's a Conair Cearmic Straightener and has 25 setting, not didgital, and also has a turbo heating. I straighten my hair but i doesn't stay straight. My hair is just a tad above shoulders, only because i did not like the layers in my hir when i had gotten it cut that way and bought a straightener so i could flip the ends or just straigten it. So i got it cut to the very first layer in my hair. I'm growing it out again to maybe try layers again. What can i do to keep my hair straighter longer? Is it the straightener or is it my hair? My hair is now onyx wth red tips, like i said, a tad above the shoulders. It's in the middle between thick and thin, in a medium… [cont.]

A. You have the right straightener. It could be your hair. I straightened my hair almost everyday because I couldn't stand having fluffy hair. When I started doing that, my hair was dead & the straightener couldn't even work it's magic anymore. Go to the salon & get your hair deep conditioned about once every 2 or 3 months. This softens your hair so it's back to the soft hair it was when you were a little kid. If you keep this up, you can straighten your hair as much as you want & your straightener can do it's job just fine. Just make sure your hair isn't dead. If it does start becoming dried up again, go to the salon & do it all over again. I don't have to straighten my hair that much anymore since my hair is soft & flat now from all the… [cont.]

What hair styles do most girls find cute?
Q. I'm a guy, and I have long, black hair. I was just wondering if some girls find guys with long hair cute, what style should I make my hair of? Of course I won't cut my hair. But should I put it up in a low ponytail? Or a braid with some of my hair hanging down on the sides of the front of my face? Should I just leave it down, and maybe put in some red or green highlights? Or white or blonde? Should I dye it a different colour? Please give me your suggestion.

A. TRISWIM Anti Chlorine Shampoo and Conditioner - Works great to keep your hair from getting damaged, or green. If your not already using it I highly recommend you do. Frederic Fekkai Anti Frizz Silkening Creme - I use this when I get out of the pool, and it keeps the frizz away all day. John Frieda Zero Humidity Control Spray - Just a couple sprays keep the frizzy hair away. I`m serious. L`Oreal Springing Curls Mousse - Definetly one of the best mousses out there, it works awesome if you like to scrunch your hair. It also works the same weither your hair is wet or dry. Herbal Essences Dangerously Straight Mousse - Just incase you dont feel the curly that day or if your curls aren`t just falling quite the right way. Hope this helped, I`m [cont.]

Is there a certain way to use hair rollers or a curling iron?
Q. When using hair rollers is there a certain way to part your hair? Do you part your hair from the middle or comb it back and start from the back with no parting of the hair? I put a couple of Velcro rollers in my hair and for some reason they start to slip down? Any advice on making them stay put in the hair tightly (I even used bobby pins)? Also is there any other advice specific to Velcro rollers? I have straight hair, so are there any hair types that rollers don t work on? And about curling irons are you supposed to start from the tip of the hair and roll up or from the top of the hair and wind the other hair around?
Asked by Autumn - Thu Jan 4 18:43:43 2007 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. i dont use velcros but i do love my curling iron. i dont typically use it the way most ppl do. Instead of clipping the section into the iron, what i do is hold the section of hair and wind it on the outside of the curler, it creates a more natural curl. After u finish each section spritz it with a curling hairspray.

What hair product can i use to keep my curls from frizzing?
Q. I have super curly hair and i straighten my hair all of the time now. Everyone at school thinks that my hair is naturally straight because i do it so much. Im planning on wearing my natural hair starting this summer because its starting to get damaged. I want to know what type of product i should use on my hair to stop it from frizzing.
Asked by random - Tue Apr 27 14:14:24 2010 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I've had the same problem before. This is what I do to keep my hair from frizzing. 1. Wash hair as little as possible: use little shampoo; lots of conditioner 2. After washing out the conditioner, comb your hair with your fingers or a wide tooth comb 3. Don't rub hair vigorously with towel; make fists with palms in the towel 4. Always follow up with leave-in conditioner 5. Finish with unsticky styling lotion: twirl small sections of your hair around your index finger; leave it for about five to ten seconds 6. Let hair air dry: Do Not Touch!

A. This will take five minuts or less! Teased Pigtails Tame your flyaways with a styling cream like Sunsilk Hydra TLC 24/7 Creme, then gather hair into a low, loose ponytail under each ear. Secure with bright ribbons, and gently tease the ends for even more fullness.

How do I recover from from damaged hair while transitioning to go natural?
Q. I have not gotten my hair relaxed in a year. At first, it was not intentional for me to go natural, I just hated going to get my hair relaxed everytime there was a little new growth. Now I want to go natural and embrace my hair, however in the process I have kept my hair in a ponytail for a year and have not taken much care of it. Now after a year, I've noticed breakage of the relaxed hair and the short nappy hair is left. Parts of my hair is still long and other parts (the parts in the middle where I had my ponytail and in the front) have broken off considerably until all thats left is my natural hair. I was just wondering if this will affect my hair when I decide to chop it all off. My natural hair is atleast an inch long at the… [cont.]

A. i also stopped relaxing my hair and now its natural except for some ends i need to trim...anyway by this time those places that are relaxed are probably just dead hair that is coming out, you should cut them off. try cornrowing your hair (not too tight) and if you wear tight hairstyles stop it!! the relaxed hair will continue to break i thinks its normal when you're transitioning. what i did was as my natural hair grew more and more i slowly cut off the ends. i cut little but little and now the natural hair as long enough to my liking that i can cut the dead end off completely.hope i helped a bit..

A. Black/ Brown mascara Kohl eyeliner around the lashes of the eyes . Blend don't leave lines . Soft red lipstick to match your dress . you don't need shadow . you'll have too much going on with such a bright dress . the liner will bring out your eyes anyway along with the mascara . I have done photo shoots for many years and the least amount going on the better .

How can I stop my hair from being greasy the day after washing it?
Q. I have a bit of a long story... Back in May 2005 I got my hair permed. It didn't look good and it was bad for my hair so I've been letting it grow out. I recently got tired of having to straighten it or go out with ugly looking curls so I cut about 6 or 7 inches off and my hair is now around my shoulders. I just got an extra inch cut off a couple of weeks ago and I've noticed that I have some split ends. I only straighten my hair once a week and usually I let it air dry. But I've also heard that you shouldn't wash it everyday. My problem is that my hair is very fine and can be oily and if I don't wash my hair everyday it looks very greasy. A. Try using something like shikakai (a plant powder from India) or rhassoul (a moroccan clay). It's very different from conventional shampoo, but it's so much more effective on keeping your hair clean. I used to wash my hair every other day, now with rhassoul I only wash it once a week and the shine, bounce and volume are amazing.

A. Erm, all I can tell you is to gel it up. I don't know if you'd be into it, but I always found faux hawks cute (the middle is spiked up with gel like a mohawk would be, the rest lies flat). I don't think you can really do more than that with hair that short. And hair grows at a rate of about half an inch per month, so you can probably figure it out from there. Good luck.
