See, as i was growing up my parents had books on the theory of alien civilizations & extraterrestrial research, amongst other things such as psychology books & books on unexplained phenomenons. Today I am very interested in these things, especially the alien stuff. As my mum was growing up her mum had a lot of books about the workings of the brain & a lot of encyclopedias & today she is very stuff like that. From this i saw a pattern. How about you? Q. With advances in technology, electronic books and audio books are gaining popularity. But these do not offer the 'feel' of curling up with a good book. They also limit the audience to only those that have acess to a computer/internet. Can traditional books and the world of computer text live in harmony and coincide with each other? Q. i looking for books related to american wars for example revolutionary war, civil war, ww1,ww2 my english teacher forces his students to read, analize, write essays and get tested on his boring and out dated books about america history. he want the books that we read in his class to connect to other classes. his intentions are good but he needs to choose better books and give kids more options. Please reccomend books are exciting, will apeal to kids age 12-14 and appropriate for class. can you also reccomend books not relating to war but in the same time period. any good books related to physcial science are also helpful.

How do coupon books like Entertainment work?
Q. I see these books for sale by schools as fundraisers. I'm wondering how does the Entertainment company make it's money.Do companies pay to get their coupon in the book? Does all the revenue come from the sale of the book? Or both? I'm planning on doing something similar for my organization, but I don't know if I should charge businesses a fee to offer coupons in my book.

A. A series should have as many books as are necessary to tell the story, and no more. Novels for adults average around 100,000 words, but fantasy can be a bit longer. Novels for teenagers are shorter - around 60,000 words, I think. Tarzan and the Eternal Champion both have a lot of books in the series, but they don't tell one single continuing story - you can read some of the later books without needing to read all the earlier ones first.

What books have eagerly awaited and then been dissapointed by?
Q. I recently got the first five books from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files for a lovely reading marathon. I love paranormal stuff, and he came so highly recommended I was champing at the bit in anticipation of a new series with many instalments to look forward to. I've only managed the first two and am really disappointed. I can't figure out why they haven't clicked with me. Have you ever had this happen with a book?

A. I kept reading reviews about a book called "The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao" that made it sound like it was brilliant. It WASN'T, and I hate reading a whole book waiting for something to happen and nothing interesting ever does.

When do I start ordering books for college with financial aid?
Q. I am new to college and wonder when are you suppose to order books by?What if the place your ordering through does not have those books in yet?I would prefer to order used books but do not know if I should?What do you do if you accidently order a book that is not needed?Are you suppose to wait until classes start?

A. You can save money by buying books online but you must be sure you're buying the right book...I go online to the school bookstore and look at the books for that class. But if you do it this way, you have to pay out of pocket. Then when you get your financial aid refund of any left over from your school you can pay yourself back. The only way to not have to pay for them is to buy them from the book store, they can charge your account for them

What are good books to help me start a modeling career?
Q. I am interested in doing modeling. I am looking for books on posing or other good books to read so I can succeed in the model business. I am a woman in my late 20's. I already have the Complete Idiot's Guide to Modeling. FYI, I do not live in the US, so any US-specific books will not help me. Thanks

What books focus on an individual who would get everything from his parents and wants to start a new life?
Q. I'm writing an essay for english in how Chris McCandless (Into The Wild) got everything from his parents but yet he sets out for a trip and seems to want to build a trip. Part of the assignment is to bring in another book that has the same mentality or the same topic as this. I was wondering if anyone knew any books that deal with an individual building a new life after he/she gets everything from his parents growing up.
