A board book is a type of book printed on thick paperboard. The paperboard is printed and used for the both the cover as well as the interior pages. Each page panel is a minimum of 2 plies of paperboard thickness. Unlike a typical paper book that is bound with saddle stitching (staples) or perfect binding, a board book's pages are specially folded and bound together. Board books are very durable and consequently intended for small children to use and play with so that they can start very early to learn their ABC's, colors and numbers and of course begin their love and appreciation for books that will hopefully last for the rest of their lives. Many best selling titles that were originally published in hard cover or paperboard formats have been converted to board books. Most of the board books produced in the world are produced in China and Mexico however there is one board book printer still located in the United States. The college board book should be more similar to the real SAT since they are they are the same people who create the test. Different SAT Prep books will have varying level, I'm not sure about Barron's but someone told me that some of the math sections in Kaplan books are harder than the actual test. If you are working through the SAT book, it would probably be a good idea to go through the college board book first and then if you want more practice consult other prep books. Q. I'm looking to make a board book for my 1 year old daughter. I've found a lot of companies that do produced to order soft and hard cover, and one do-it-yourself with labels, but none that will print board books. I'd like something where I could do a small run, prefer one at a time, but could make a more universal book and give away/sell it if I had to do 10 or so.
