A. Australia entered World War II shortly after the invasion of Poland, declaring war on Germany on 3 September 1939. By the end of the war almost a million Australians had served in the Australian armed forces and Australian military units had fought in Europe, North Africa, and the South-West Pacific. In addition, Australia came under direct attack for the first time in its history. 27,073 Australians were killed and 23,477 were wounded by enemy action during the war. In effect Australia fought two wars between 1939 and 1945,[1] one against Germany and Italy as part of the British Commonwealth's war effort and the other against Japan in alliance with the United States and Britain. A. If it's a first edition and in reasonably good condition, probably in the neighborhood of $150. Book valuation is an art unto itself, though; you should really take it in to an antique book shop and have it looked at. Here's a listing of a similar book from a reputable online seller:

A. The Battle of Milne Bay (Operation RE) was a battle of the Pacific campaign of World War II. Japanese marines attacked the Australian base at Milne Bay on the eastern tip of New Guinea on August 25, 1942, and fighting continued until the Japanese retreated on 5 September 1942, however armed resistance ended on 7 September 1942. The battle was the first in the Pacific campaign in which Allied troops defeated Japanese land forces and, significantly, forced them to withdraw. The assault was the southern most point of the Japanese advance on land in World War II.

Is it true that (A. A. Milne) Alan Alexander Milne based his Christopher Robin character after Rory Emerald?
Q. What can you tell me about A. A. Milne and Rory Emerald? Were you a fan of his famous teddy bear, Winnie-the-Pooh? Can you name ALL the adorable animated characters Milne created?
Asked by snowy dragon - Sun Jun 18 22:14:58 2006 - - 2 Answers - 1 Comments
A. He was based upon the author A. A. Milne's own son, Christopher Robin Milne, who in later life became unhappy with the use of his name, writing in one of a series of autobiographical works: "It seemed to me almost that my father had got where he was by climbing on my infant shoulders, that he had filched from me my good name and left me nothing but empty fame." Piglet, Tigger, Kanga, Roo, Owl, Rabbit, Gopher, the Heffalump, and Eeyore are just a few of the characters. I, like many Americans was a fan of Winnie the Pooh at a young age.

A. Piglet offended Muslims, and Winnie The Pooh was among the possessions of a political extremist, and the Russian government deemed that it could be used as code and banned it there. Basically, just overreactions. Also, apparently he's a devil worshipper.

A. He'll (also) clear out his balance of/worth Rs. 9, 09,129/- when he pays the visit. ^^"also" is optional here because it is understood but you can add it if you want. ^^use either 'of' or 'worth' . worth sounds better in a professional context.
